Britain’s national poet, Carol Ann Duffy has found a new muse!
And surprisingly enough, it’s footballer David Beckham!
Duffy was inspired by Beckham’s recent injury and has crafted together a poem that “imagines Beckham as the ancient Greek hero Achilles.”
Ha!
Duffy’s poem includes Beckham disguised “in girls’ sarongs; days of sweetmeats, spices, silver songs” and on the playing field, “his charmed foot on the ball.”
Pretty creative, if U ask us!
