As we previously mentioned, race car driver and former Dancing with the Stars champ, Helio Castroneves was indicted in Miami for allegedly not paying taxes on more than $5 million!
Castroneves and two others were accused of using “an offshore Panamanian shell corporation Seven Promotions to conceal and disguise the true and correct amount of Helio Castroneves’ income from the Internal Revenue Service.”
Well, there’s good news for the tax evader. A jury has just acquitted him today of tax evasion!
The two others involved, his sister (who was also his tax manager) and his attorney, were also acquitted. Though the jury kept the conspiracy count on Helio and his sis.
The three could have faced up to six years in prison if found guilty.
Looks like Helio has a lot to celebrate now.
And we bet he paid his taxes, in full, this year!
