Alaska Mom Claimed Someone Hurt 5-Year-Old Daughter -- Now SHE'S Being Charged With Her Murder

An Alaska mom is facing murder charges after her little boy was found bludgeoned to death.

Back on October 14, 43-year-old Cedar Sarten called 911 in a frenzy, saying her son had been harmed by someone, according to Fairbanks Police Department. She claimed she tried to call the cops the night before, but the call wouldn’t go through. Sadly her 5-year-old passed away from the injuries he sustained over those crucial hours.

Police were naturally suspicious. When they first arrived, they opened Sarten’s front door to a horrifying scene…

When law enforcement officers arrived to the mom’s home, she answered their knocks and immediately they knew something was terribly wrong. She appeared to have many self-inflicted cuts all across her body, including her forearms, wrists, neck, and head. The press release claims they found little Robert “Bodhi” Gagner-Sarten (pictured above) deceased on the bed in the home, as well as some weapons lying around.

Officers claim they found two knives, as well as a 20 lb kettlebell weight, both covered in blood. The entire apartment, per the release, had a “significant amount” of blood in it, too. Gut-wrenching.

After an autopsy was performed on the little one, medical examiners determined he suffered blunt force trauma and was harmed by a sharp object. Police claim they were also able to look at Sarten’s phone records and find out her story of trying to call 911 the night before was a lie.

The mom herself was rushed to a hospital in Seattle to treat her own injuries, and by November 5 officers had obtained a warrant for her arrest. She was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder. Fairbanks Police Chief Ron Dupee said in a public statement Tuesday:

“We appreciate everyone’s patience as our detectives investigated this case. There is so much work that goes on behind the scenes during a murder investigation and I’m very proud of the thorough work that was done to ensure that we have a strong case and can hopefully provide some measure of justice for the victim’s family.”

Sadly, police revealed this wasn’t the first time they’d had trouble with Sarten. Back in 2020, an officer reported that they saw the mother trying to harm the same boy during an incident at a hospital. It’s so sad to think someone had a chance to do more for this child…

A GoFundMe has been started for the boy’s father, Robert Gagner, to lay his son to rest. In the description, a family friend described Bodhi as the “sweetest most kind hearted, loving little boy” who wanted “nothing more than to play and just be a kid”. To donate to the family, you can click HERE.

Such a tragic, tragic situation. Our hearts go out to the family suffering such an immense loss. May Bodhi rest in peace and get the justice he deserves.
