Now Alex Cooper‘s husband is being dragged into the Unwell Network drama!
As we’ve been following, Alex and her old pal Alix Earle have been in the middle of some serious beef, and right now we’re all awaiting the tea. But is it possible Alex’s husband Matt Kaplan could have something to do with why the Unwell Network and Hot Mess parted ways?
Well, allegations via a new Bloomberg report from Monday don’t paint Matt in a good light! While Alex focuses on Call Her Daddy, Matt’s job is to handle a lot of the day-to-day stuff in their company. And he’s allegedly “earned a reputation for frequently yelling at staff members”. So much so, some employees have been reduced to tears and threatened to leave in the middle of film and live show productions! Oof!

According to the report, one insider alleged during Alex’s Unwell Winter Games, Matt berated a seasoned employee so harshly they started to cry. It’s even claimed he threatened to blackball them from Hollywood! OMG!
Other allegations include crew members filing complaints threatening to quit if Matt didn’t chill out. In fact, during 2025’s Call Her Alex documentary when a production member threatened to quit over what Matt said was a tough work schedule, this source alleges it was actually because he was being a jerk! They claim it didn’t have anything to do with the long hours at all, but instead it had everything to do with his mouth!
Ouch… Yeah, none of this sounds good.
And thinking back to how Brianna LaPaglia suggested some people have had bad experiences on Call Her Daddy, as well as how Alix suddenly cut ties with the Unwell Network… We mean, is it possible? If all this is true about Matt, could this be a big clue? And also why everyone is hesitant to say anything about the real reason for all the drama?
