Boston University Alumni Defend Alex Cooper’s Former Soccer Coach After Sexual Harassment Allegations

Former Boston University women’s soccer players are defending coach Nancy Feldman after she was accused of sexual harassment by Alex Cooper.

The Call Her Daddy podcast host made the bombshell claim in her new documentary Call Her Alex, which premiered on Hulu last week. According to Alex, Feldman started to “fixate on me, way more than any other teammate of mine” during her sophomore year of playing D1 soccer at the university — and it wasn’t because of her talents on the field. The coach allegedly behaved inappropriately with her.

Alex claimed she wanted to know extremely personal information like who she was dating, make comments about her body, or “always” wanted to be alone with her. As she explained in the doc:

“It was this psychotic game of, ‘You wanna play? Tell me about your sex life, I have to drive you to your night class, get in the car with me alone.’ I started trying to spend as little time as possible with her, taking different routes to practice where I knew I wouldn’t run into her. During meetings, I would try to sit as far away from her as possible, literally anything to not be alone with this woman.”

However, avoiding Feldman came with a price. The Unwell Network founder alleged that if she avoided the coach, she was benched from games. It was a nightmare Alex felt like she couldn’t escape. And even when the media mogul allegedly begged for help from an assistant coach at one point, she did nothing. And sadly, Alex isn’t the only victim of Feldman’s. She revealed on the podcast other women shared the same experiences. In fact, women at BU are allegedly facing the same harassment to this day even though the coach retired in 2022. Awful.

There are those who didn’t have a horrible time with Feldman like Alex, though. Now they want to stick up for the coach in light of the accusations. TMZ obtained a letter signed by 99 former Boston University soccer players on Monday, saying they never experienced any form of harassment from Feldman. While the athletes do not want to “diminish or discredit anyone’s individual experience,” they felt they needed to share their own expereinces with Feldman as a “united group.” The players don’t want to “diminish or discredit” Alex or others’ stories, yet they don’t stand with them and come forward with a whole letter to defend their harasser instead… Make it make sense.

The former college students — featuring alumni over several decades — said they “categorically never felt unsafe” with Feldman and “were never at risk of or witness to inappropriate behavior or anything that could be characterized as sexual harassment.” The letter continued:

“As a leader, she approached every day with professionalism, making decisions in service of the success of the team.”

The group noted Feldman “has remained an important part of our lives and we shall stand by her.”

It is disappointing to see so many alumni siding with an alleged sexual harasser. Thoughts, Perezcious readers? Sound OFF in the comments!
