After attempting suicide over the weekend, some sources are saying that Alexa Ray Joel was upset over an argument she had with her boyfriend.
Supposedly she took Traumeel, a homeopathic medication, and 911 was called after she became worried about breathing.
The musician has since been released from the hospital and is said to be with her father Billy Joel, who was a no-show when Alexa was in the hospital!
Alexa Ray is no stranger to relationship problems as she has frequently spoken about them to the public. Back in August she wrote on her MySpace page:
“UGH!!! MEN!!! Is anybody else finding it a difficult “dating world” out there? I’m so terrible at dating ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ I don’t know if I’ll ever get used to it! And I HATE the game-playing! Can’t stand it.
I live in the greatest city in the world and I can’t seem to meet an interesting guy who also happens to be NICE. Go figure… “
She also told PEOPLE magazine last year of her break-up with former bass player Jimmy Riot:
“I can get very dark. I can get very in my own head and depressed as many other artists can. I was crying all day. I thought how am I going to put on a show.
“[But] the minute I got out there, it was the best show. I thought I was going to break down, and suddenly this energy with all the emotion was just pouring out.”
Channeling those emotions through music is healthy, but nobody is worth taking your life over!
