Internet trolls live and breathe to get a rise out of those they direct their trollery at (we should know!) — but Alexa Ray Joel just reminded us that certain trolls can be obliterated out of existence when put under a spotlight.
That seems to be what happened when Christie Brinkley‘s daughter defended her looks on social media on Wednesday.
Brinkley shared a photo on Instagram of her youngest daughter Sailor Brinkley Cook during a modeling gig, which apparently prompted a user to leave a nasty comment comparing Sailor’s looks to her 32-year-old sister.

The comment has since been deleted; and it seems to be because Alexa went FULL THROTTLE on the troll, writing:
“@sams7007 Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, Mr. Big Shot. You may think I’m hideous, but I like the way I look. And that’s really all the matters. (Besides, there’s a lot more to people than just what they look like.) But hey, continue being a shallow, hateful troll in life and see where it gets you!”
Alexa’s right — being a shallow, hateful troll gets you nowhere. Unless you’re running for president.
Stop feeding the trolls, kids.
