It’s Mom Tip Tuesday with Ali Landry!
The queen of beauty and motherhood is almost done with her second pregnancy (yay!), and is sharing her mommying expertise with our prezcious readers! This week Ali has fashion tips of the knocked up!
Ali’s advice will help you hind your bump as well as Hilary Duff!
Ali tells Perezitos.com exclusively:
After spending the last few weeks in authentic 1940s maternity clothes while shooting “Little Boy” in Mexico, all I have to say is, thank God for the evolution of maternity wear! Women back then had to endure some pretty awkward get-ups, while these days we have the luxury of choosing from a wide variety of garments without sacrificing neither comfort nor style. With that said, here are two of my key pieces that have seen me through both pregnancies and beyond:
1. Jeans are a staple of any wardrobe, pregnant or not. I found a great pair of skinny jeans by Habitual Denim that were both stylish and comfortable, and a pair of wide-leg Mama J by J Brand jeans that have carried me throughout my entire pregnancy. I can wear them with some of my roomier pre-pregnancy tops, and at times you couldn’t even tell there was a baby bump under there.
2. Maxi dresses are definitely a must-have! Being pregnant doesn’t automatically mean you have to restrict yourself exclusively to maternity clothes, especially since they tend to be pricier than off-the-rack clothes. Maxi dresses are a great alternative to keep your budget in check and still look hot. I especially like vintage dresses because the empire waistlines are so flattering on mommies-to-be.
And of course it’s always good to stick to basics. As the weather gets colder, my go-to outfit consists of black leggings, boots and a sweater or tank top and jacket. It’s cute, comfortable and cozy; everything you need to be when the temperature drops and you’re about to pop.
