Mommy/Actress extraordinaire Ali Landry says Valentines Day should be a celebration for your little one!
She says:
“Having kids adds an entirely different dimension to Valentine├óΓé¼Γäós Day; it allows us to celebrate another facet of love ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ not just romantic love ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ and enjoy time as a family while reveling in old holiday traditions as well as creating new ones.”
We agree, parental love is totes worth celebrating!
To help spread the love the Hollywood Moms star has some given Perezitos.com a few ideas for making this Holiday a treat for your whole fam.
Ali writes:
“One of my favorite Valentine├óΓé¼Γäós Day memories from when I was a kid is a tradition we had at our school: parents would bring balloons for their children, and I remember being excited all day and waiting for my name to be called over the PA meaning my balloons had arrived!
Last year I started doing the same for Estela, bringing balloons for her at preschool. She loved it, and I plan to continue doing it every year for as long as she’ll let me! This year we are starting a new tradition involving my daughter’s newfound love for letter-writing – making Valentines for all the people she loves. It’s a perfect time to let grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins know how much she loves and misses them while getting her involved in a fun art project.
On Valentine’s Day night, my husband Alejandro and I eschew the traditional dinner out in favor of a fun evening at home with the kids. We all cook and eat dinner together, decorate the place and enjoy whatever surprise Alejandro has planned for us (last year he brought someone to play the violin for us while we ate on the balcony!).
We save date night for either a day before or after Valentine’s Day, that way we can avoid the stress of making reservations weeks in advance to get into a good, but crowded, restaurant. We have a romantic dinner, exchange cards and gifts, and basically just take the time to show our love and appreciation for one another.
It├óΓé¼Γäós important to do that on a regular basis, of course, but it├óΓé¼Γäós fun having a day that├óΓé¼Γäós all about the LOVE!”
SO true!
Staying at home Valentines Day is a great way to eliminate stress AND show your kids the importance of love.
