Alix Earle is getting brutally honest about her mental health.
Over the weekend, the 25-year-old influencer posted a video to TikTok to explain she took a short break from social media because she has been struggling lately. She said while filming the “get unready with me” clip:
“I know I haven’t posted anything on here in the past few days, week-ish, or at least speaking as I normally do. But honestly, I just sort of took some time for myself and tried to not be online as much because I was getting into not the best place.”

Alix shared that she has “always been fine with reading commentary” about herself, noting “that’s what you subject yourself to when you post yourself online” and that “you have to be okay with that.” However, she has been having a hard time recently with the comments she sees about herself:
“But recently, I don’t know. It has felt more negative. Obviously it’s gonna get to you or make you overthink when you’re constantly reading about what you’re doing, the way you look, who you’re hanging out with, what you’re saying.”
It got so bad that Alix revealed she “broke down” and suffered from a panic attack:
“Honestly, there was a point this week where I just broke. I was literally doing my makeup in the mirror, and I just broke down in tears. And I was on the plane. I had a panic attack, like a real panic attack of like my heart’s racing, feel like I can’t breathe, I’m crying.”
Oof…
And no, Alix made it clear she is not “complaining.” She just wants to let her fans in, which is where she has been “struggling” the most at this time. The Dancing With the Stars alum said it has always been her “happy place” to hop on TikTok and talk about her life, but “every time” she does so lately, people feel it is a “problem” or try to “figure out what [she’s] talking about.” She added:
“It just turns into something bigger. I’m just trying to share my human experiences and hope that someone either relates or just laughs at it or is entertained by it.”
Alix feels she now gets “to the point where I overthink everything about myself.” Calling out her comments lately, the reality star said there is a “double standard” in which fans think they can say the “nastiest things” about her on her videos, but she would be deemed the “biggest bitch ever” if she said the same things. She’s not wrong…
Thankfully, Alix had her girls over the weekend to lift her spirits amid her mental health struggles. She shared that she hung out with pals in Miami and decided not to post a vlog after “overthinking everything about [herself].” Ultimately, Alix loves her job, but she doesn’t want it to impact her mental health anymore than it already has:
“I do really look forward to this, and I love what I do. But it also shouldn’t result in like me hating myself. … I’ve actually recorded a video like this a few times, but the other times I was recording it I was crying and I was like, let me just collect myself a little more. But we are feeling much better. Gonna stay protecting our peace, but I’m still going to bring you guys along for those who care.”
We’re sending so much positive energy Alix’s way, and hope she takes as much time as she needs for her mental health. Her own well-being comes before anything else. And this should go without saying: be kinder in the comments. You never know how your words could affect someone. Watch Alix’s vulnerable video (below):
