We were SHOCKED when Amber Portwood chose jail over rehab over a year ago.
At the time, the Teen Mom said she wanted to get her life back together.
Well, it seems like Amber is doing just that!
She’s getting her life together in such an amazing manner that she may be released from jail early!
She had the following to say about it in a recent interview:
“I did my TABE testing for my GED placement and I did really well. I scored in the advance book so I was very excited. So now I’m in GED classes on weekdays. I got my scores back and I had college level scores in English. And I got a perfect 12.9 in social studies and science. I have 11 months of GED every Saturday here in CLIFF really paid off.”
Wow, okay, not sure what that really meant. Although we do know what the GEDs are and that CLIFF stands for Clean Lifestyle Is Freedom Forever – a program in prison meant to help inmates.
But don’t worry, Amber summed it all up when she said:
“I’m so excited and I’m really working hard studying so I can score high on the GED test. I’m working my ass off to get out of here!”
Okay! That makes sense!
Amber will take the GED test in August, and depending how well she does on that – she may be out of jail by October!
Much less time served than the original sentence she received for five years!
Most of her motivation comes from wanting to be with her daughter Leah again.
Here’s what she said:
“Booboo sat on my lap the whole time we were playing games had a few snacks. She’s so beautiful. She has long blonde hair down to her butt now and she’s getting tall. I can’t wait to get out and spend time with her!”
We’ve got to say we thought Amber was making the wrong move when she chose jail over rehab, but it really does seem like she’s in a much better place!
This is one of the few times we’re happy to say that we were wrong!
