UPDATE 9/13/18 2:16 P.M. EST: Chief Medical Examiner for NYC revealed the fetus discovered August 7 aboard an American Airlines flight, “had been non-viable for at least 24 hours prior to the unanticipated delivery.”

A dead fetus was found in the bathroom of a commercial American Airlines plane on Tuesday morning.
According to CBS reports, the American Airlines flight arrived at LaGuaradia Airport from Charlotte, North Carolina shortly before 10:45 p.m. But at around 6 a.m. Tuesday morning, the cleaning crew found the fetus hidden inside the toilet under sheets of toilet paper.

Sources also told CBS that the Port Authority Police and Queens’ District Attorney’s office are investigating to find out who is the pregnant woman in question.
Until the mystery woman is identified, here’s an official statement from American Airlines:
“As we continue to learn more about this tragic and sensitive situation, we are actively cooperating with law enforcement in their investigation.”
