Sesame Street clearly didn’t do their research on American Apparel because the two are partnering up to produce a line of limited edition t-shirts for the show’s 40th anniversary.
Earlier this year, the folks over on the Street reached out to the clothing company and presented them with their complete catalog of graphics. leazy CEO Dov Charney is no dummy, obviously seeing this could bring in lots of ca$$$h
According to a graphic designer at American Apparel:

“We sat down and went through eight discs of artwork from the Sesame Street archive and picked the ones we responded to the most. It took almost two months, but the end result is a cast of characters and images that bring a modern feel to Sesame Street and a heritage to American Apparel.”

The line is set to release this month and just in time for the holidsays, will be sold in 25 AA stores around the world and online.
Hopefully Dov won’t sexualize these shirts in the advertisements.
