The 13th season of American Horror Story reprises its most iconic characters, storylines, and performers for one grand (final?) season. All stars Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Emma Roberts, Kathy Bates, Billie Lourd, and more return — this time, to face off with the Devil himself.

Back in AHS‘s eighth season, Apocalypse, the witches of Coven went head to head with the Antichrist AKA the son of Satan, but now the series’ most beloved characters seem to be meeting the supreme snake himself. As show creator Ryan Murphy previously teased about this season’s ultimate villain:
“Let me just put it this way: In many seasons, the [characters] have battled the Antichrist. The only hint I’ll say is, let’s go above his pay grade for this. That’s my clue.”
Who or what else could possibly go above the Antichrist in terms of evil but Hell’s own master? And it looks like he’s being played by none other than Love Story star Paul Anthony Kelly. Watch the official trailer for American Horror Story: 13 (below):

One user, LBP-v6v, wrote out their theory for how the Devil is summoned:
“They’re gathering 13 characters (probably villains/powerful figures from past seasons) and using their ‘parts’ to create the ultimate being — the monster we see in the trailer.
I think that monster is being created as a vessel for the Devil himself, which would explain the whole ‘evil greater than the Antichrist’ thing. Michael was Satan’s son; this would literally be Satan incarnate.
Also, I don’t think Constance brushing/grooming the monster in the trailer is random. I think we’re literally seeing part of the process that eventually transforms/stabilizes the creature into Paul Anthony Kelly’s character. His snake imagery suddenly makes a LOT of sense.”
Chilling! Yes, the robe PAK wears does appear to feature a snake.
Definitely going to be the most hyped TV show this Halloween season!
