An 80-year-old woman in Massachusetts is now facing criminal charges for feeding the ducks at a local pond.
Town officials have filed criminal charges against the woman after she repeatedly violated an ordinance the prohibits residents from feeding the birds.
A serial bird feeder, she was even hit with a No Trespass Order that prohibited her from visiting local parks.
She would apparently still go to parks with literal shopping carts full of food for the ducks.
She claims that she only wanted to save six domesticated ducks from starving, and said:
“Being an animal lover, I couldn├óΓé¼Γäót leave any animals to starve to death.
Well, look at it this way. I will be the first 80-year-old woman in the world who was thrown in jail for feeding the animals.”
Officials are fed up with her constant violations so they’re pressing charges.
A spokesperson from the police said:
“It├óΓé¼Γäós been an ongoing issue. She├óΓé¼Γäós been warned before.”
We’re anxious to see if the courts will actually sentence an 80-year-old woman to jail time.
