Andy Murray just became the first Brit to win a Grand Slam final since 1936!
He recently defeated Novak Djokovic during a five-hour long five-set final.
That’s crazy! That must’ve been absolutely exhausting!
He is now moving ahead of the injured Rafael Nadal in the world rankings to the number three spot.
He said:

“It was incredibly tricky conditions and in the third and fourth sets, it was really tough because Novak is really strong and fights all the way. It was close to five hours. I have always had tough matches with him.”

Murray actually lost the first two sets so he had to fight his way through for the next several hours, earning every point.
He couldn’t afford to lose├óΓé¼┬ª so he didn’t.
Congrats, Andy!
