We guess nothing is as it seems.
As you surely know by now, Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt on Monday after citing irreconcilable differences over what appears to be Brad and Angelina’s differing parenting styles.
The 41-year-old is requesting physical custody of the couple’s kids, asking for Pitt to be granted visitation.
As allegations of infidelity and substance abuse come to light, another source tells Us Weekly the 52-year-old actor and the humanitarian were consistently at odds with each other over the span of their 12-year relationship — especially when it came to parenting their six children, Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10 and twins Knox and Vivienne, 8.

The insider explains:
“They came so close to this before. They fought a lot over the years and disagreed about many things.”
And although Brangelina tried to meet in the middle for the sake of their kids, Angie ultimately had to make the decision she thought was best for the entire family:
“She did try to make it work, but her kids come first and she couldn’t let them see mommy and daddy like this. The fighting got worse and they disagreed a lot about parenting and a lot of things.”
Another insider echoes this same sentiment to People:
“They always had disagreements when it came to disciplining the kids. With all the kids, it did tend to get chaotic many times.”
We’re hearing Pitt “has always been stricter” when it comes to parenting, and he “wanted the kids to have more structure” and “was more about having rules.”
While the source admits Brad never used physical discipline, he was known to “get frustrated sometimes and yell at the kids.”
This behavior clearly conflicted with Jolie’s more relaxed attitude:
“Angelina always had a more relaxed attitude when it came to the kids. She definitely never yells.”
So what else did the Mr. & Mrs Smith stars disagree on?
Work schedules and politics, to name a couple:
“They also fight over their schedules and politics still. They have a lot of very heated political fights.”
Wow.
Sounds like a toxic environment all around… they certainly hid it well!
