Angelina Jolie is keeping her box office gold reputation intact — especially with these latest numbers!
Her Disney Maleficent has its debut this weekend, and the numbers are more than solid so far!
In fact — it’s looking like the movie will beat all other movies’ grosses, and is targeting a $70 million dollar weekend! On Friday, Maleficent pulled in $25 million, so that $70 million seems like a pretty safe bet!
Here’s what box office expert Nikki Finke tweeted:
“Friday Box Office: #1 Angelina Jolie in ‘Maleficent’ (Disney – 3948 runs) opens for solid $25M targeting $70M weekend.”
Sounds good to us!
Unfortunately that means Maleficent‘s competitors like Godzilla, X-Men, and A Million Ways To Die In The West won’t be making as much money, but it’s their fault for not getting Angelina Jolie!
Then they may have been in the same money-making position that Maleficent is in!
