Yet another of the Slumdog Millionare child stars is watching their home be torn down by the Railway authorities in Mumbai. Rubina Ali played the younger version of the character Latika in the movie and her one room shack was illegally built along the new path for the expanding railway. Therefore, it was just demolished by men with sledgehammers, much like fellow star Azharuddin Ismail’s shack was last week.
Photographers captured the young girl watching her home be destroyed and scraping through the rubble of her home with her mother, looking for their belongings.
What’s even worse is that both children were promised a new home last February by the housing authority of Maharashtra state.
Someone should light a fire under these people and keep these kids off the street.
And hello, someone get that Jai Ho trust into effect, huh?
Clearly, these kids need help…NOW!
