Anti-Abortion Lawmaker Blames DEMOCRATS After Doctors Delay Her Care For Life-Threatening Pregnancy

Anti-Abortion Lawmaker Blames DEMOCRATS After Doctors Delay Her Care For Life-Threatening Pregnancy

MAKE IT MAKE SENSE.

Republican, anti-abortion lawmaker Kat Cammack is attempting to blame Democrats for a terrifying situation she found herself in last year. During an interview with the Wall Street Journal published over the weekend, the 37-year-old woman revealed she rushed to the hospital in May of 2024 when she woke up experiencing heavy bleeding while five weeks pregnant.

Doctors informed her she had an ectopic pregnancy, which occurs when a fertilized egg implants outside of the uterus, according to the Mayo Clinic. Ectopic pregnancies are not viable and can become life-threatening if not treated, so Cammack had two choices: surgery or methotrexate, a drug that can halt an embryo’s development and end the pregnancy. Except there’s one big issue with that second option: doctors and nurses were terrified to administer the drug to her in the wake of the six-week abortion ban that had taken effect in Florida that same month. You know, the one that could get care providers’ licenses revoked, or worse, prosecuted.

Cammack told the outlet she tried to call Governor Ron Desantis’ office for help in pleading her case that life-threatening pregnancies are an exception. His office didn’t answer, but Cammack was eventually administered the medication after a delay in care… But what’s INSANE is in her interview, she attempted to blame the doctors’ hesitation on the “fearmongering” Democratic party instead of anti-abortion lawmakers in the Republican party like herself. She claimed:

“It was absolute fearmongering at its worst.”

Now, Cammack is pregnant again and due in August. But several days after the article was published, Cammack took to X (Twitter) on Wednesday to claim her office was forced to evacuate after receiving alleged death threats… From who she claims to be “pro-abortion activists.” She wrote:

“Today, we had to evacuate our offices due to imminent death threats against me, my unborn child, my family, and my staff. These threats erupted after the Wall Street Journal reported on my life-threatening ectopic pregnancy — a nonviable pregnancy with no heartbeat. Since then, we’ve [received] thousands of hate-filled messages and dozens of credible threats from pro-abortion activists, which law enforcement is actively investigating. To those spreading misinformation: I did not vote for Florida’s heartbeat law; I serve in the U.S. House of Representatives, not the Florida Legislature.”

She concluded:

“Let me be clear: I will not be intimidated. I won’t back down in the fight for women and families. Ensuring women have the resources and care they deserve is critical. We need real conversations about maternal healthcare in America — conversations based on truth, not fear.”

This is just so beyond…
