Antonio Banderas is about to get his director action on again!
The actor-singer-producer-director-cologne-maker will be directing his third film, a psychological thriller that has a hint of sci-fi, titled Solo.
The movie features a Spanish colonel, played by Banderas, who is suffering from post-conflict trauma and eventually, “turns on solitude.”
Banderas’ Green Moon label, based out of his native Malaga in Spain, will develop and produce the movie with a budget of $14 million. The screenplay is witten by Erik Jendresen, who also co-wrote Goleor: the Scales and the Sword, which is an animated project developed by Banderas’ Spanish animation studio, Kandor Moon.
The Spanish film will shoot in English, but will feature Spanish actors. Banderas said that it was important to film in English because it’s needed “to reach large international markets.”
This will be his third film as a director. His last two directing projects were 1999’s Crazy in Alabama and 2006’s Summer Rain.
Solo is set to release sometime in 2012.
Fantastico! Sounds like a great premise. Will U be watching?
