Aoki Lee Simmons is calling it quits on modeling.
Over the weekend, the 22-year-old daughter of Kimora Lee and Russell Simmons took to Instagram to vent about her difficulty landing gigs in the modeling industry — which stings since her momma is SUCH a famous model. In a selfie video, she says:
“It’s hard to go somewhere and get told over, over, and over, ‘No, no, no, you’re not pretty enough.’ I think I’m probably wrapping up modeling soon. I’m, like, getting a job in my degree field, but you know, while I’m still here, I should do my best … I hope it doesn’t sound whiny.”
Talking about going to casting calls that her mom “always got” but not being able to land them herself, the celeb kid added that it always feels like she’s being compared to the 49-year-old:
“It feels like one big fat comparison all the time. Like, okay [I’m] not as good. I get that. My mom is always going to be a way better model than me. But it’s just annoying to have that comparison sometimes.”
That’s rough! Maybe just this once being a nepo baby DIDN’T work out!

Aoki graduated from Harvard University last year, and added in her video that she hopes to land a government position in political science. But in the meantime, she’s going to “do [her] best” in the modeling industry! You can watch her full video (below):
