Amazon is reportedly prepared to go head-to-head with Apple this fall by debuting their new Android-powered tablet computer at the same time Mac releases its third-generation iPad. They surely aren’t the first to try and take a piece of Apple’s tablet pie, but they might be the first with a fighting chance to succeed.

The world’s largest online retailer is reportedly producing more than a million tablet computers to debut in October. The tablet will have a 9-inch screen, have a built-in Kindle e-reader and the “ability to deliver digital media from books to music.”

Oooh! Sounds pretty sweet to us! Plus, we admire Amazon’s moxy! First an App store, then the Cloud, now this! They’re coming for you, Apple! Whatcha going to do to fend them off?!
