Here’s some exciting, happy news!
This weekend, there will be a dedication of the Martin Luther King Jr. monument on the National Mall.
Originally planned for late August, the event needed to be postponed because that b*tch Irene had a mental breakdown.
But everything is a go now, and not only will President Barack Obama be keynoting the special ceremony, Aretha Franklin will be headlining the entertainers!
Set to speak will be civil rights leaders Julian Bond, Rep. John Lewis, and the Rev. Jesse Jackson as well as members of the King family and journalist Dan Rathers.
Journalist Roland Martin will the evening’s emcee.
So if you’re in DC this weekend, you know where you want to be! His is the first statue of an African America leader on the national mall.
