Ariana Grande‘s highly-anticipated thank u, next has finally dropped on Friday, and it already has Twitter going wild over the 12-track album!
There’s a lot to dissect here as eight of the songs are completely new to the ears of Arianators, and of course questions about if there would be mentions of ex-fiance Pete Davidson, the late Mac Miller, and coping with a range of ups-and-downs over the past few months.

Ghostin
It’s pretty clear this track is about Ariana mourning the death of Mac, leading to the breakdown of her engagement to Pete.
Here are some of the lyrics:
“I know that it breaks your heart when I cry again
Over him, mmh
I know that it breaks your heart when I cry again
‘Stead of ghostin’ him”
Sadly, as the songstress goes on, it sounds like she and the SNL star would overcome it:
“We’ll get through this, we’ll get past this, I’m a girl with
A whole lot of baggage
But I love you, we’ll get past this, I’m a girl with
A whole lot of baggage, oh yeah”
The starlet even previously confirmed on Twitter about the meaning:
feeling badly for the person you're with bc you love somebody else. feeling badly bc he can tell he can't compare…. and how i should be ghosting him.

In My Head
Fans seems pretty clear her ex Pete is the subject of this song as the intro is a recording of Ari’s friend Doug Middlebrook with what he apparently told her after the breakup of the engagement.
He says:
“Here’s the thing: you’re in love with a version of a person that you’ve created in your head, that you are trying to but cannot fix. Uh, the only thing you can fix is yourself. I love you, this has gone on way too long. Enough is enough. I’m two blocks away; I’m coming over”
Grande continued, singing:
“Falling, falling, but I never thought you’d leave me
Falling, falling, needed something to believe in, oh
I thought that you were the one
But it was all in my head
It was all in my head “
She even revealed the meaning behind the track previously:
being in love w a version of somebody you've created in your head. falling for someone that they are not.

Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored
There’s a lot to unpack with this one!
Not only does it seem like she sampled NSYNC’s It Makes Me Ill, but then there’s the topic of the “girlfriend” Ari is referring to!
The music video (above) explained a lot about the single!
While it was speculated the 25-year-old was singing about getting someone’s boyfriend to break up with their girlfriend (most specifically, Big Sean to break up with Jhene Aiko), it turns out that’s not the case at all…
Let Ari’s fans explain:
so the “girlfriend” in the break up with your girlfriend, im bored resembles ariana so much even down to the moon tattoo behind her ear, the hair clip. the girlfriend is ariana. she’s breaking up with her boyfriend and loving herself. #thankunext pic.twitter.com/vfb9Lv6tMo

buwyg,ib is about loving yourself first. the video the girl represents ari. she is ariana in the relationship. and she’s telling her bf to break up with her so she can go in love herself and live life that’s why every time she looks in the mirror she sees the girl #thankunext
