Aubrey Plaza Had Been Separated From Husband Jeff Baena For Months Before He Died By Suicide

Aubrey Plaza and her late husband had been separated for months before his tragic passing.

New details surrounding Jeff Baena’s death have been revealed in his post mortem medical exam, and they’re so, so sad… TMZ obtained access to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s report on Wednesday, which reveals he and the Megalopolis star had been separated since September 2024 — four months before he tragically died by suicide in January. Aubrey reportedly moved from LA to New York at that time. She was still keeping an eye on Jeff… who was unfortunately dealing with some major demons.

According to the report, he made concerning remarks in October which prompted the Parks and Recreation alum to ask his friends to perform a welfare check. Aubrey told cops after that the filmmaker started up therapy. According to the report, the last time she heard from him was on the morning of his death when he sent her a text message.

How incredibly heartbreaking.

The report also reveals Jeff was found dead by his dog walker, who came by his LA home at her normal time and strangely heard loud music playing from inside. When she entered the residence, she found the 47-year-old’s body. After cops arrived and confirmed his death, they called Aubrey to inform her of the tragic news. According to her, Jeff had not previously attempted suicide. There were no drugs or alcohol found in his system at the time of his death, and he did not leave a note.

Our hearts continue to be with Aubrey during this unimaginably difficult time.
