Mel Grieg and Michael Christian must be feeling all kinds of relief!
The Australian DJs who orchestrated the now infamous prank call to a London hospital concerning Kate Middleton and her unborn child will NOT be charged with the death of Kate’s nurse, Jacintha Saldanha.
We previously reported that it would be highly unlikely for the fired pranksters to be charged with anything, but it was today that The Crown Prosecution Service announced their official decision.
The CPS said in a statement:
“Having carefully reviewed the evidence currently available, we have concluded that there is no evidence to support a charge of manslaughter and that although there is some evidence to warrant further investigation of offences under the Data Protection Act 1998, the Malicious Communications Act 1988 and the Communications Act 2003, no further investigation is required because any potential prosecution would not be in the public interest.”
Those (former) Djs should probably be thanking their lucky stars for not having to deal with any legal action!
And even though they are not being officially punished in a legal sense, we’re sure that whatever they feel regarding this heartbreaking tragedy is punishment enough.
