Avicii‘s loved ones were worried that the Swedish DJ’s drinking problem would be the end of him.
The celebrated EDM producer previously opened up about his health battles when he announced his retirement from touring in 2016.

But sources tell TMZ that friends and family of the 28-year-old were still concerned about his partying ways, as he suffered from pancreatitis — the inflammation of the organ — which is made worse by heavy alcohol consumption.
What’s more alarming is that TMZ also shared a photo of Avicii on a yacht in Muscat, Oman with what looks like an alcoholic beverage in hand, apparently taken just a day before his death.
An official cause of death has yet to be released, but the family of the superstar (real name Tim Bergling) have since released a statement on his passing:
“We would like to thank you for the support and the loving words about our son and brother. We are so grateful for everyone who loved Tim’s music and have precious memories of his songs.
Thank you for all the initiatives taken to honor Tim, with public gatherings, church bells ringing out his music, tributes at Coachella and moments of silence around the world.
We are grateful for the privacy during this difficult time. Our wish is that it continues that way.
