Chris Soules, the former star of The Bachelor, is a lucky, lucky man today.
The reality TV star was in court in Iowa on Tuesday to accept an incredibly sweet plea deal on an incident in which he caused the death of an Iowa farmer when he rear-ended the man’s John Deere tractor.

According to TMZ, Soules entered a guilty plea to one count of leaving the scene of a personal injury accident… which, even though a man was killed due to Soules’ negligence, that’s only a misdemeanor!
Talk about getting off light!!
Now, to be fair, it’s an aggravated misdemeanor, and Soules could still end up doing prison time over this — but whatever prison time he may get, it’ll pale in comparison to what could have been had he not accepted this very, very favorable plea deal.
