The Bachelorette Contestant 'Drugged, Beat, & Robbed' While Visiting Colombia!

Former The Bachelorette Contestant 'Drugged, Beaten & Robbed' During Colombian Vacation!

A former contestant on The Bachelorette has opened up about a recent trip to Colombia where he was “drugged, beaten and robbed.”

Will Urena was on the 2021 season of the dating game show where he attempted to win the heart of Michelle Young. He didn’t make it past round four, but gained a following from his time on the show. The academic interventionist — who works with autistic students in elementary school — was most remembered from season 18 for saying he wanted to “make a substantial connection with someone” because he was “very tired of being the only single one in his group of friends.”

Fans who followed Will from the show were surprised to see on his Instagram Stories Tuesday that he was the victim of a violent crime while enjoying a vacation in Colombia. The shocking story read:

“Sorry to all those I haven’t been able to msg back. While in Colombia I was drugged, beat [sic], and robbed of all my belongings.”

So scary!

The Michigan native went on to thank everyone for their support:

“These past few days have been something I could of never imagined. Thank you for all those reaching out with kind words. I really appreciate y’all beyond words.”

Wrapping up the post, Will said he’s just grateful to be alive while he recovers:

“I am slowly working to get my life back to normal. I am just beyond grateful to still be here. God is good!”

Such an awful situation, but we’re so glad he’s okay!

It’s unclear what kind of injuries he sustained from the attack or what area it took place in — but over the weekend, the 29-year-old posted some pics of himself walking through the streets of Medellín. Ch-ch-check out the post (below):

Damn! Sorry, but who would see that fine-looking man walk by and think, “I should rob him.” Ugh, people!

Several outlets have reached out to The Bachelorette alum for comment, but he hasn’t responded to any of the requests. It’s awful he was the victim of such a violent attack, but we’re all so thankful he wasn’t seriously injured or killed!

According to CountryReports, robberies and scams against visitors are “a significant concern” in Colombia — especially urban areas of the South American country, which can be “extremely dangerous” for unsuspecting tourists. Just like with traveling anywhere, always be on the lookout and be prepared in case things turn awry!

We’re sending love and light to Will and we hope he has a speedy recovery.
