Bam Margera Enters Rehab After Intense, Emotional Three-Hour Session With Dr. Phil

Bam Margera Dr. Phil rehab

It looks like there’s a growing light at the end of the tunnel for Bam Margera!

After his highly public plea for help from Dr. Phil over the weekend, the Viva La Bam star is reportedly heading into an extended stay rehab facility for 60 to 90 days in order to battle his alcoholism. The good news comes after reports surfaced that Bam and Dr. Phil met for hours in the green room for the doctor’s show on Monday.

According to ET, a source revealed the two met for at least three hours and “spoke at length” on Monday afternoon, one day after the star’s first public plea for help from the TV doctor. While the meeting was not taped for television, it did take place on the Paramount back lot, inside the green room at the studio where Dr. Phil’s show is filmed.

The best news to come out of the meeting, by far, is the rehab stay. The source confirmed Margera has agreed to admit himself into a live-in rehab facility in an effort to get clean and quit his drinking habits. Per the source, the program requires a 60-90 day time period, too, so it’s a big commitment for Bam to make — but hopefully it bodes well for his future!

And sure enough, late on Friday afternoon, TMZ reported Bam was already en route to the facility after the session with Dr. Phil. No delays in showing up to get clean!

A Tough Sit-Down Meeting…

Before the rehab move, though, came the sit-down with the TV doc. And according to sources with direct knowledge of the conversation, it sounds like everybody involved was incredibly emotional. Bam reportedly teared up several times while opening up about his issues, and things came to a boiling point when he confronted his wife Nikki (pictured above), accusing her of “extreme stubbornness.”

His mother April reportedly also participated in the session; The sources shared she was very concerned with exactly what kind of substances Bam has been abusing of late. As we reported this weekend, Bam noted he no longer had any relationship with his mom, so this would seem to be a big (and emotional) step forward.

What Comes Next?

It’s unclear what else is on the horizon for the ex reality TV star, aside from the rehab stay, though it alone is more than important enough to focus fully on for the next few months. Apparently, one of Dr. Phil’s conditions for meeting him in the first place was the sit-down not be filmed, so it doesn’t appear we’ll be able to see any of this go down on television any time soon.

That’s fine — obviously, it’s far more important for the 39-year-old and his family to get things right. The former Jackass star has been in and out of rehab before, too, so we can only hope something really clicks this time. It’s interesting to see Dr. Phil involved, too; several years ago, Bam was not on board when the doctor offered his help. Oh, how times change!

What do y’all think about this good news, Perezcious readers?! Margera has a lot of work to do from here, but he took a BIG step forward yesterday just to get his foot in the rehab door. Rooting for him to make it work!! Says a lot about Dr. Phil to go the extra mile like that, too, doesn’t it??
