“This time’s different. This moment’s too important to sit out.”
President Barack Obama took the stage at the University of Illinois after receiving the Paul H. Douglas Award for Ethics in Government and gave a speech kicking off the 2018 midterm race in earnest.

Obama is still the erudite statesman we’ve known for years, but he just seems looser, less measured. This is Campaign Barack.
See the full speech (above) or check out some of the highlights as he talks about freedom of the press, embracing nazis, and that infamous New York Times op-ed (below)!
President Obama discusses the push for American ideals against the status quo:

"Do not complain. Don't hashtag. Don't get anxious. Don't retreat. Don't binge on whatever it is you're binging on. Don't lose yourself in ironic detachment. Don't put your head in the sand. Don't boo. Vote. Vote." pic.twitter.com/zLJLZKHRKS

Remember, everyone — you have to vote!

“The antidote to a government controlled by a powerful few, a government that divides, is a government by the organized, energized, inclusive many.”
Man we missed this guy…
