Barbra Streisand Fights Women's Heart Disease

Barbra Streisand is a huge proponent of equality.
She said:

“I can’t stand inequality of any form, whether it’s about civil rights issues, women, gays — whatever. Gender inequality really gets me.”

So, clearly, she was very upset when she learned that heart attacks and strokes kill more women every year than all cancers combined, while medicine and treatment tends to focus on men and heart disease.
Babs decided to take action by creating the Barbra Streisand Women’s Cardiovascular Research and Education Program, which funds work at Cedars-Sinai’s Women’s Heart Center.
Recently, Streisand planned to raise $20 million and even gave $5 million of her own money to the cause by planning a huge fundraiser at her home and perform along with Josh Groban, David Foster and several surprise guests.
Tickets are $100,000 a couple.
The money will go to hiring more doctors and scientists and getting state of the art equipment at the facility.
Streisand said:

“I endowed the program for every woman and for every man who has a woman in his life — his daughter, his wife, his sister or mother.”

Way to help women everywhere!
Werk it, gurl!
