Sometimes you can’t get out of work!
Ben Affleck has been in the news a lot recently but not for his upcoming superhero flick Batman v Superman. It came out earlier this week that Ben and his wife Jennifer Garner are getting a divorce.

Well apparently this isn’t stopping Affleck from heading down to Comic-Con to help promote next year’s sure-to-be blockbuster. Affleck will be starring as Batman opposite Henry Cavill as Superman in the flick and both are scheduled to appear along with Gal Gadot and director Zack Snyder to help promote their film, which is due out March 25, 2016.
This might be shocking as most people would think Affleck would want to stay home so soon after the bad news but we’re giving Ben the beny of the doubt!
But with superheroes being such a commodity these days and Comic-Con being a hot spot to build buzz about upcoming tv shows and movies, it would make a lot of sense if actors are actually contracted to attend these press events — especially one as big of Comic-Con.
Especially since Affleck is such a prominent character and WB is trying to rebrand Batman, it’s particularly crucial they have a large presence at the Con. Snyder said of his leading man:
“He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne.”
In the past, Marvel has taken the main stage and generally steals the show during Saturday’s program. This year Marvel isn’t showing up, and Warner Bros has the chance flaunt what they’ve got and take over with all of their super movies coming out in the next few years!
We’ll see what happens when the cast takes the stage but until then, we hope Ben can cope with the recent events and just enjoy the time with his kids!
