Baby mama drama!
Actor-turned-awesome-driector, Ben Affleck would have LOVED to direct a episode of Homeland, but Jennifer Garner wouldn’t allow it.
During his acceptance speech at the Artios Awards, the Argo actor/director revealed:
“It’s true! I was going to do Homeland. I liked the show. I signed on.”
BUT, Ben felt obligated to pass on the opportunity to direct episodes of what wound-up being an Emmy-winning show — because of an agreement with wife.
The dedicated father explains:
“I don’t want to blame it on ‘her,’ but my wife and I have an arrangement where when she works, I don’t work and when I work, she doesn’t work. She said, ‘I have this movie, it’s 10 weeks, it’s in Atlanta.’ I said, ‘Okay, forget it. I’m sure nothing will happen with it anyway.'”
Now that Homeland has been declared the Best Drama of the 2012 season, Ben totally pissed he missed the opportunity!
At the end of his acceptance speech, he told the crowd:
“I want to thank my wife who is spectacular and who puts up with me and is a doll, who is the reason I didn’t do Homeland. But she is also the reason why my children know my name!”
Oh well!
