Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner have (finally!) finalized their divorce, according to TMZ.
It’s been a very, very long time coming for the ex-couple and still-co-parents, and reports first landed overnight that the pair has finally figured out a property settlement and a rough custody arrangement that seems to work for them.

Great! Now everybody can move on with their lives.
Except… there’s still one big wild card here that could mess everything up: Ben’s drinking.
According to reports, Ben’s sobriety is the huge issue that could still yet derail this divorce decree, because though the settlement is complete, it hasn’t yet been signed because of Ben’s alcohol issues.
We’re told that it will only be signed and finalized if/when Ben successfully completes his latest rehab stint and gets back on his feet healthy and sober.
Affleck has allegedly fallen off the wagon multiple times over the last two years, and Garner reportedly (and very much understandably) doesn’t want to risk him doing so again in the future if/when the pair’s children are in his custody.

And so, even with no prenup — which considerably complicated the pair’s long-winding property settlement — Ben & Jen are this close to finally, officially splitting… if only he can just complete rehab.
Here’s hoping everything works out for Ben’s health, and the family’s overall well-being — especially the couple’s three children.
