Ben Affleck Was ‘Drinking Alone For Days’ Before Jennifer Garner Intervention

Ben Affleck really was in a bad place in the days leading up to his intervention and return to rehab.
As we reported, the Batman actor sought treatment at a facility last Wednesday night following an intervention from his ex Jennifer Garner, who reportedly knew that Ben was struggling again for months and had no choice but “to intervene.”

He apparently looked the part, too, as a source explained to People:

“Ben had been drinking alone for days. He was in bad shape. He had barely been eating and had not showered. It didn’t take much convincing. He wanted to go, and he cooperated.”

Garner arrived at Ben’s house with an addiction therapist and, the same day, drove the 46-year-old to a treatment center in Malibu. A second source explained:

“He knew he needed help and was vocal about it.”

The actor previously sought treatment in 2001 and 2017.

Though he’s been going to meetings and working with a sober coach for much of the last year, an Affleck insider said he was shook after his breakup with Lindsay Shookus, and ultimately “went into a darker and darker place until he had to reach out for help.”
Getting help is the most important part. The actor is lucky to have such a great support system he can lean on during the dark times.
