Warner Bros. just announced that Ben Affleck will play Batman in next summer’s Man of Steel sequel!!
As sad as we are to see Christian Bale move on to greener pasturers, we’re totally intrigued by this move!!
Director Zack Snyder loves the casting call. He admitted:
“Ben provides an interesting counter-balance to Henry├óΓé¼Γäós Superman. He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne. I can├óΓé¼Γäót wait to work with him.├óΓé¼┬¥
And we can’t wait to see the end result!!
When Batman and Superman team up (or fight?!), Ben’s physique should contrast Henry Cavill‘s rock hard steel body quite interestingly!!
Srlsy, we aren’t even sure how to wrap our brains around this mind-blowing news!!!
We think this could be cool, but Ben’s first foray into super-heroics — as the titular character in the 2003 stinker Daredevil — was a hot mess!
He should be in good hands this time, though. If he gets stuck we think he should totes call on Michael Keaton for pointers!!!
Man of Steel II is coming at us faster than a speeding bullet — expect it in theaters on July 17, 2015!!!
