Shiz is getting reeeeeal in Buffy the Vampire Slayer comic!
Earlier this season, fans found out that their gurl Buffy was dealing with something harder than math class and slaying dark creatures… Buffy is preggo! Gasp!
Readers have waited 6 issues for Buffy to decide how to handle her problem / blessing, and the latest issue (out today) they got their answer: she’s having an abortion.
Buffy creator Joss Whedon (who also wrote Toy Story) explained his crazy not at all super-natural plot, saying:
“It├óΓé¼Γäós not something we would ever take lightly, because you can├óΓé¼Γäót. You don├óΓé¼Γäót. It├óΓé¼Γäós not an easy thing for anyone.├óΓé¼┬¥
Writer Andrew Chambliss also told USA Today it wouldn’t make sense for Buffy not to consider her options:
├óΓé¼┼ôGiven the specifics of Buffy├óΓé¼Γäós life at this point in the season ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ facing a new kind of vampire threat, barely able to keep a job ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ it seemed like it would be dishonest for Buffy to not at least entertain the question of whether she should keep or end the pregnancy.”
Uh-oh! That sounds like she’s gonna change her mind!
Our money is on Buffy keeping her baybay. Sure it would be super Twilighy of them — but babies sell!!
