This is Big Sean‘s first time taking the MTV VMAs stage!!
The rapper was joined by A$AP Ferg, and the pair teamed up on the high energy hit Berserk — which Sean himself had ironically teased just hours earlier before the performance! And tonight made for quite the debut, in New Jersey on the VMAs stage and on national TV in front of the entire world!

It sounds like the pair might just have a hit in the making with their song here, at least judging by the performance we saw on stage tonight on the east coast! Lots of energy… lots of craziness… and lots of intensity! Adrenaline rush!!!

Nice!!! This seems like a solid way for Sean to jump back into the public sphere after a difficult time away! He may just have re-cemented his status in the industry with this strong new single and take-no-prisoners attitude back on discipline! Here we go — it’s time for the comeback!!

This performance comes on the heals of a tough year for Sean. In the spring, the performer opened up about depression and how therapy got him through it.
He talked toxicity and more on Instagram, revealing:
“The relationships around me, the people I was growing up with, I had a lot of toxic relationships around me. Even the relationship with my mom was getting to a point where we wasn’t talking like that. It was weird, because that had never been like that with me and her. I realized it all started with me, and I had to analyze myself, I couldn’t point the finger at anybody else. I had to point it at myself, and nurture those relationships that were important to me. But most importantly, nurture the relationship with myself.”
We’re so glad he’s thriving now!
