Is Jhene Aiko Taking Shots At Ex-Boyfriend Big Sean On Her Latest Single 'Triggered'? Fans Seem To Think So!

Fans are shocked by Jhene AIko's scathing diss to her ex Big Sean.

Jhene Aiko apparently has a lot to get off her chest!
The R&B singer’s latest single, Triggered (Freestyle), which dropped on Wednesday, reveals some pretty bitter sentiments about an unnamed ex and all the ways he “triggered” her.
But considering the fact that Aiko’s been linked to Big Sean for the last few years, fans on Twitter are pretty convinced that the new song’s scathing lyrics are actually about the Moves rapper.

Using her melodic and airy voice, she makes it clear that there’s a lot of love lost here, singing:

“You muh f***in right I’m bitter/You need to stay out of my way/I’m triggered when I see your face”

And later in the first verse, Aiko adds:

“Knew from the beginning you’d ruin everything, you do it every time, you are no friend of mine.”

Yikes! That does not sound like a relationship that went or ended well.

The song isn’t exactly a one-sided diss, but more of an open letter as the 31-year-old admits to her own toxic behavior and out of-control temper in a lyric later on, saying:

“Maybe I’m overreacting baby, I don’t know what happened, you know all of my bad habits, you know it’s hard for me to control that s**t, man cuz when I get mad I get big mad.”

As we mentioned above, the Trip singer and Detroit rapper dated for three years, until Aiko confirmed they were no longer together in early 2019.
As quick as fans were to piece together the fact that the song was about Sean, some were equally surprised by the choice of words considering they seemed to be on decent terms just a few weeks ago.
After Sean posted a tribute to Nipsey Hussle following the rapper’s death, Jhene showed him her support. She wrote to her ex on Instagram, saying:

“You are so special. to me. to the world,” she wrote. “While we’re both still on this planet I just want to say… I love you beyond measure. Even tho I get big mad and u trigger the f*** out of me. u make me feel. and I appreciate that. Because I thought I was dead inside. My ego has no say when it comes to you. And my heart has been broken a thousand times just to expand. It always finds rom for you. The good and the bad. I love you from this life to the next and all the other lives we’ve known each other before. Imma always talk my s***. But Imma always have ur back.”

What a loving, sweet message! This hardly sounds like she hates the guy, so what must have gone so terribly wrong between then and now? Also, anyone else notice the use of the word “trigger” in that post, too?
What makes it even more interesting is that at the end of March, the Sativa singer responded to a fan on social media who kind of saw this coming, and claimed she would diss her ex on her next project. To which, she replied:

“Me and Sean are good. I got tons of love for him. My next album is all freestyles where I touch on many subjects and relationships…past, present and future. I know you all love the drama and would like to think everything I do is about him, but I’ve been through plenty of other things and situations that I pull inspiration from when I sit down and create a song.”

It sounds like that explanation didn’t age well, LOLz…
What do you guys think about Jhene’s new song? A direct jab at Big Sean or just another sad love song?
