Now THAT’S philanthropy!
Bill Gates just pledged a further $750 million into the troubled global AIDS fund!
Even though that’s basically pocket change for him, we’re pretty staggered by his commitment to helping others:
“These are tough economic times, but that is no excuse for cutting aid to the world’s poorest.”
After saying this, he then had The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation give $750 million through a promissory note — a “fresh injection in addition to the $650 million that the Gates charity has contributed since the fund was launched 10 years ago.”
That’s incredible, and hopefully it won’t just be putting money into the cause, but also faith. Some countries have put a freeze on donations because of allegations of misuse. Hopefully Gates’ donation will get that money flowing again, and countries will want to help out once again!
Because let’s face it, this is a huge cause that needs help. It’s an incredible way to help your fellow man!
