Bill Hader's INSANE Story About Cobra Kai Star Is A Must-Listen!

Bill Hader Insane Martin Kove Story

The Karate Kid star Martin Kove has been making headlines this week after getting kicked out of a fan convention for BITING one of his Cobra Kai costars.

Yeah. If you haven’t heard the wild tale of the iconic ’80s villain being a menace IRL, he allegedly bit Alicia Hannah-Kim, who played Kim Da-Eun, so hard he nearly drew blood. And apparently for no reason at all! He said he was just trying to be funny! You can read more about the incident HERE. And you can read the apology his crisis management team had him make HERE.

Well, it turns out ol’ John Kreese may have been kind of a jerk all along… at least according to this story that’s resurfaced in the wake of the biting thing!

Bill Hader tells a great story, and back in 2013 he was on Marc Maron‘s WTF podcast talking about his earliest days in Hollywood. Apparently his first job was as a driver, and he had been tasked with driving around Kove.

Awkwardly, he was new in town, so he didn’t know his way around — not great for a driver. But Marty apparently smelled the blood in the water and went for it. Hader thinks the actor “got me lost on purpose” just to mess with him. But that meant he got him to set late — which got Bill screamed at by the boss. When Kove got back in the car later that evening to be driven home, he acted all contrite:

“He was like, ‘Bill, are you mad at me?'”

He asked if his then 20-year-old driver would like a milkshake or a cookie or something, implying it was his way of apologizing. He talks Bill into driving them to a McDonald’s, he asks what kind of milkshake and what kind of cookie and everything — then says once again, “I’m so sorry” before going in to get the food while the future SNL star waits in the car. But then…

“He comes back out… eating the chocolate cookie and the milkshake. And he just sits in the back and goes, ‘Come on, let’s go.’ It was the biggest ‘f**k you.’ I was like, ‘Whoa!’ It was a weird mind f**k of, like, ‘I’m gonna get you this thing,’ and then he ate it in front of me. And then I just drove home in silence. And I was like, that was my first, ‘welcome to Hollywood, kid’ moment.”

He had to keep driving Kove — but he “didn’t talk to him after that.” Yeah, we bet!

Bill offered that he “might be a really nice guy” and maybe it was his fault and he “rubbed him the wrong way.” But that’s being way too generous! We’re not talking about a guy losing his temper and raising his voice, this was a bizarre, planned bit of cruelty. Serious weird villain energy!

Listen to the whole wild story (below)!
