Good Idea, Billboard!

We think this is going to open doors to all kinds of amazing taLent!
Billboard announced this week that they are launching a brand new ranking chart called Uncharted. The idea is to track and rank breakout artist who are found primarily on the Internet.
Taking into account a variety of factors like YouTube clicks, Twitter traffic and even MySpace Music page views (thumbs up to MySpace!), up and coming artists will get exposure through well-known music trade magazine and website. The artists don’t have to be unsigned, but they must not have appeared on any of Billboard’s other charts.
Amazing! Such an opportunity to expose everyone to amazing new music! We’re going to be keeping a very close eye on this!
