Billie Eilish Defends Drake & Talks Having A Britney Spears 'Breakdown' In First Vogue Cover!

Billie Eilish Vogue Britney Spears Drake Mental Health

In 2019, a year of rising stars, none became household names as quickly and completely as Billie Eilish.

On Monday, the 18-year-old hitmaker hit another milestone: her first Vogue cover!

In the profile she opens up once again about her struggles with mental health. As her celebrity has risen, she’s gained a newfound insight into the stress on pop stars — in particular ones for whom it became too much, like Britney Spears. She explains:

“As a fan growing up, I was always like, ‘What the f**k is wrong with them?’ All the scandals. The Britney moment. You grow up thinking they’re pretty and they’re skinny; why would they f**k it up? But the bigger I get, the more I’m like, Oh my God, of course they had to do that. In my dark places I’ve worried that I was going to become the stereotype that everybody thinks every young artist becomes, because how can they not? Last year, when I was at my lowest point during the tour in Europe, I was worried I was going to have a breakdown and shave my head.”

Oh man are we glad it didn’t come to that! So what are the latest pitfalls of fame that are driving Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O’Connell to the edge of madness? It’s all about the loss of her privacy. Even during the interview, just hours after posting on Instagram that “being home is boring” after her tour ended, she receives an edible arrangement with a card that says:

“Sorry you’re bored at home.”

At her house! Where her parents live! Billie responds how anyone would to a fan casually revealing THEY KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE:

“Ugh, that is so f**king creepy. They’re being nice, but there’s a line they just don’t see. Sometimes they’re like, ‘I know this is wrong, but I just wanted to leave this letter.’ And I’m like, If you know it’s wrong, then why do it?”

Billie also finds she’s being photographed everywhere these days. And the teen boils down how bad that actually feels better than maybe anyone else ever has. She explains:

“Luckily I dress fly all the time, so it’s not like they’re getting a picture of me where I look f**king crazy. But literally? It feels like if you were to walk into an empty room, and then you looked at your phone and you got a text of a picture of you in that empty room from inside the room.”

Oh yeah. That’s definitely creepy. Um… speaking of creepy, the interviewer does ask about one minor controversy in Billie’s young life —

“The internet is such a stupid-ass mess right now. Everybody’s so sensitive. A grown man can’t be a fan of an artist? There are so many people that the internet should be more worried about. Like, you’re really going to say that Drake is creepy because he’s a fan of mine, and then you’re going to go vote for Trump? What the f**k is that s**t?”

Ha! OK, first off, no we aren’t going to go vote for Trump. In addition to his many, many other issues he also is a creeper who admitted he used to “stroll right in” on the Miss Teen USA contestants while they were changing in their dressing room.

Second, there is something about Drake and underage girls that just keeps popping up, and that is hardly our fault. First he’s friends with underage Hailey Bieber then reportedly dates her, then he’s friend with Kylie Jenner for years, and they allegedly hook up. He’s a really good friend to Millie Bobby Brown. All we’re saying is, the man reaches out to young girls and befriends them and by all accounts is a totally great guy to them, especially about fame and stuff, and then he sometimes allegedly has sex with them once they’re of legal age. There’s something icky about it.

Just sayin’. What would you think of Drake befriending Billie if she was YOUR daughter? Totally chill? Or heck NOvo? Anyway, on a brighter note, you absolutely need to check out Billie’s amazing Vogue covers — four in all — and one amazing photo we can barely even understand from her spread. See them all (below)!
