Billy Ray Cyrus Had A Lot To Say About Miley's Newfound Sobriety!

Billy has so much love for Miley!
Proud poppa alert!!
Billy Ray Cyrus couldn’t sound happier over news of Miley Cyrus‘ recent sobriety!
In case you missed it, the Malibu songstress revealed she’s given up weed and drinking while focusing on making new music. And her crooning father couldn’t help but gush about it during an interview with Entertainment Tonight!

The Achy Breaky Heart singer dished:

“As a dad, I see Miley really just functioning on, like, a figure and a joy for life. I don’t know how to break it down more than just the fact that I see a joy in her spirit and something coming from within that is just pure beauty, if you will.”

And he explained how he truly thinks her sobriety is so important right now:

“I think she just found├óΓé¼┬ª she’s firing off all cylinders. Her thoughts, her instincts, everything is at the top of its game. Sometimes you have to clear out the junk. And then you realize what’s most important. Whatever is going on, it’s working for her.”

The 55-year-old even almost made us tear up a little while talking about his not-so-little girl:

“You know what I like about the way she looks [now?] Happy. You have even seen it. A month or two [ago] she sent me a picture and I said, ‘You look so happy.’ I’m here [as her dad], and she’s beaming with happiness. That means more to me than anything. That’s what I want Miley to look like ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ happy.”

Aww!
Of course, this comes after Miley received a lot of backlash for appropriating hip-hop culture when it was convenient to her. While the 24-year-old had her response to those accusations, Billy might have hinted it as well while talking about his daughter’s album:

“If you really want to know Miley, this record is a great place to start,. I think that’s the real her, I really do.”

Are YOU excited for new Miley music??
