Amazing!
Touch Bionics is changing the world of prosthetics with the introduction of their new product, ProDigits, the world’s first powered bionic fingers with the broadest range of motion and grip that of any prosthetic out there.
The product uses myoelectric sensors that respond to muscle signals from the remaining fingers or palm, or a pressure sensitive touch pad can be used to control the device. Therein, the device functions as a real hand more than anything else on the market.
Unfortunately, the technology isn’t cheap, ranging from $57,000 to $73,000 but for those who can afford it, it’s well worth the cost. Hopefully, as the product is developed over the years, it’ll become more affordable.
Regardless of price, though, it’s a huge advance in science and will change lives!
Check out the video for a demo and further explanation.
Exciting!
