Sandra Bullock’s ‘Bird Box’ Monster Was Supposed To Look Like A ‘Demonic Baby Creature’ -- LOOK!

Finally, something Bird Box fans can see!
*SPOILERS AHEAD*
While the villainous threat of Netflix’s post-apocalyptic horror was never actually seen in the movie, the filmmakers originally planned to include a nightmare sequence in which Sandra Bullock’s character comes face to face with the otherworldly entity that takes the form of its victim’s greatest fear.
This sequence ended up on the cutting room floor, but thanks to Andy Bergholtz, who designed four makeups of the horrific creature for the cut scene, fans get to see the “demonic baby creature” for themselves!

The creature designer shared pictures of the creepy makeup on his Instagram over the weekend, reminding fans that the “vision” would appear in a different form each character. He wrote:

“Considering her pregnant state and emotional arc thru the movie, the producers felt Sandra’s nightmare would have something to do with a twisted, demonic baby creature attacking her.”

Sounds about right!
Sandy opened up about filming this scene in an interview last month, admitting that she couldn’t stop laughing at the giant “snake-like” man with a “horrific baby face” that really just looked like “a long fat baby.”
Bergholtz tried to paint a more accurate picture of the scene his post, noting that “the ‘snake-like green man’ portion was simply [actor Dirk Rodger] in a spandex green-screen suit” and that “everything from the neck down was intended to be a giant CGI creature/body added later.”
Like Sandy, the creature designer is glad the director decided to not show the monster in the final cut — but he’s still proud of his twisted work! See makeups of the creepy baby creature for yourself (below).
