There is no love for Diane Sawyer coming from Charlie Gibson. Though he may play like they are besties, insiders are reporting that Charlie dislikes Diane BIG TIME!
A source claims that Charlie frequently gives Diane “the stink eye” as well as “bad-mouths her openly and often.”
How very 6th grade of him!
Furthermore, we hear Charlie isn’t too thrilled that Diane will be taking his coveted position at ABC Nightly News. Charlie had wanted George Stephanopoulos to be his successor, but the ABC News president, David Westin, gave it to Diane instead. That really threw Charlie into a tizzy!
A source reveals:
“He was shocked when he learned Diane got it, and he was really angry that she stole his thunder. As soon as she was named, it was all about Diane.”
Then he stomped around the office screaming “Diane! Diane! Diane!”
Cheer up, Charlie. You had your chance at the golden ticket of journalism. Now, it’s her turn. Get over it!
