Such a tragic story!
An Australian baseball player was jogging in Oklahoma, the state where he played college ball, when he was gunned down by three teenagers.
The police have not found the murder weapon yet, but one of the 17-year-olds in the group has given a detailed confession about why they killed Christopher Lane, which is SO DISTURBING.
This is the chilling tale the police chief gave:
“They saw Christopher go by, and one of them said: ‘There’s our target. The boy who has talked to us said, ‘We were bored and didn’t have anything to do, so we decided to kill somebody.’”
Australia born Christopher Lane was visiting his girlfriend and her family in Duncan, Oklahoma – about 85 miles from where Christopher played baseball at Central University.
Here’s what the player’s girlfriend said about the teenagers:
“I don’t really care what happens to them. I feel like if they don’t get what they deserve now and in the present, they will eternally. They’re just evil people.”
We can’t even imagine what Christopher’s parents are going through right now. Somehow his dad was able to record a short conversation from Australia about what he’s feeling. He said:
├óΓé¼┼ô[My son’s murder was] heartless, and to try to understand it is a short way to insanity. The fact that something that shouldn├óΓé¼Γäót have happened has happened ├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ it├óΓé¼Γäós the fact that somebody we all love so much is not going to come home.”
Ugh! This is so terrible and so sad. Our deepest condolences to Christopher’s family – we hope they somehow are able to find the strength to deal with this frightening and traumatic loss of their son.
